Jaipur to Ranthambore Tour — Wildlife Safari & Heritage in 2 Days

Rajasthan is a land of two great reputations: royal palaces and wild tigers. The Jaipur to Ranthambore Tour brings both together in a single, perfectly paced 2-day journey — beginning in Jaipur, the Pink City of royal Rajput heritage, and ending deep in the forested terrain of Ranthambore National Park, where Bengal tigers roam freely across ancient lakeshores and crumbling Mughal ruins.

Ranthambore National Park sits just 180 km southeast of Jaipur — close enough to reach in a comfortable half-day drive, yet a world apart in atmosphere and experience. This proximity makes the Ranthambore safari from Jaipur one of the most natural and logical extensions for any traveller already exploring Rajasthan’s royal circuit. Rather than returning to Jaipur after your city sightseeing, you continue the journey into the wild — trading palaces for forest zones, bazaars for birdsong, and city lights for bonfire evenings at a jungle resort.

This tour is one of our most popular experiences in the Jaipur Tour Packages collection, and the perfect companion to our Jaipur Local Sightseeing Tour if you are planning a multi-day Rajasthan itinerary.

Why Take the Jaipur to Ranthambore Tour?

Travellers who come to Rajasthan for the palaces often leave wishing they had also seen a tiger. And travellers who come for Ranthambore often wish they had more time in Jaipur. This 2-day tour solves both problems — giving you a natural, unhurried transition from culture to wildlife without backtracking or wasted travel time.

  • Most convenient route — Jaipur to Ranthambore is just 3–4 hours by road, making it the most accessible tiger safari from any major Rajasthan city
  • Two safaris in one visit — an afternoon safari on Day 1 and an early morning safari on Day 2 dramatically increase your chances of a Bengal tiger sighting
  • Ranthambore Fort included — a 10th-century UNESCO-associated fort inside the national park that combines wildlife with remarkable heritage
  • Private, air-conditioned vehicle — door-to-door comfort from your Jaipur hotel to the Ranthambore wildlife resort and back
  • Expert naturalist guide — a trained wildlife guide accompanies you on both safaris, identifying species and sharing deep knowledge of the park’s ecology
  • Wildlife resort accommodation — stay inside or adjacent to the park in a resort that combines comfort with the sounds and scents of the jungle

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a tiger sighting guaranteed on this tour?

Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed in nature — animals move freely and unpredictably. However, Ranthambore has one of the highest tiger density rates of any reserve in India, and the park’s open terrain makes sightings far more likely here than at most other reserves. Two safaris significantly improve your probability of a sighting compared to a single visit.

What is the difference between a Gypsy and a Canter safari?

A Gypsy is an open-topped, 6-seater jeep that provides more flexibility to navigate all safari zones and offers a more intimate, closer experience with wildlife. A Canter is a larger vehicle (up to 20 passengers) that is restricted to certain zones. We strongly recommend booking a Gypsy for the best experience on this tour.

Is the Jaipur to Ranthambore Tour suitable for children?

Yes. Ranthambore safaris are suitable for children and can be a wonderfully exciting family experience. Children should be able to sit quietly and follow the naturalist guide’s instructions during the safari. Most resorts also have family-friendly amenities to enjoy between safaris.

Can I return to Jaipur after the tour, or continue onward?

Both options are available. Many travellers return to Jaipur for a flight or onward train. Others continue from Ranthambore to Agra (approximately 4 hours) or Delhi (approximately 6 hours). Let us know your onward plans at the time of booking and we will arrange accordingly.

What is the park closure period?

Ranthambore National Park is typically closed from 1 July to 30 September due to the monsoon season. Please check availability and confirm your travel dates with us before booking during this period.
